Cutters Shop In Separate Building By WALTER JARCK Our shop visit this month takes us to a large, separate building especially designed and built for the purpose by Howard Cutter of Alpharetta. Howard is an industrial engineer from Georgia Tech by training and a recent IBM retiree. After years of working in a garage, Howard felt he deserved something better for his wood shop activities. His shop was built about five years ago and features lots of natural daylight from two walls of windows overlooking beautiful horse farms and picturesque scenery. The wood shop measures about 32 feet by 32 feet which includes a dust-free ventilated finishing room. All ceilings are 10 feet high. Some of Cutters equipment is as follows:
Cutters well-designed shop includes ample tool storage and lumber storage areas. Howard designed the cabinets and storage racks. The shop also includes a drafting table for designing as well as a small library of reference books. Howard recently added a television and sound system so that he can keep with the world events while working. |
